BSHS Player Tyler Clark Selected to Blue Grey
by Deidre Morgan
Bloomingdale High School senior Tyler Clark is off to the NFL Hall of Fame. Clark, the son of Tom and Karen Clark of Valrico, was selected to attend the Blue Grey All American Bowl in Canton, OH. Tyler is the first Bloomingdale football player ever selected to attend this prestigious game. Tyler, a defensive tackle, began his first year playing football his sophomore year on the JV football team.
Bloomingdale Defensive Line Coach Elbert Shumake said of Clark, “Tyler is a great football player, but an even better human being. Tyler is the kid that is always on time and is willing to go above and beyond what is asked of him. Since arriving at Bloomingdale I have honestly felt like I haven’t been coaching him, but it’s more of a partnership. Kids like Tyler succeed in life because of the core values instilled in him from his family and support system.”
Linebacker Coach Kyle Jones says that “Tyler is the kind of kid every coach enjoys coaching. From the minute he joined our football program he has been dedicated and determined to get better. He is in a position to lead his team and be a leader on a team that is going to do things no team in Bloomingdale history has ever done. I am looking forward to see what he does in his senior year.”
Tyler’s next step is to attend the Blue Grey Super Combine at the University of Texas in Arlington. In January 2015 he will be competing in the Blue Grey All American Bowl at Raymond James Stadium. Tyler’s future plans are to attend college and major in Business and Sports Medicine in addition to pursuing a career as a Firefighter/Paramedic. Whatever path Tyler chooses it is sure to be a bright one.
