Yard of the Month

The Bloomingdale Neighborhood Association (BNA) established the “Yard of the Month” (YOM) program well over 17 years ago. The goals of the program are three-fold: reach out to our community in a visual and positive manner, encourage property maintenance through recognition and reward, and develop a partnership with local area businesses. All Bloomingdale residents are eligible to participate.

The program, itself, is simple. Each month, residents submit nominations for YOM in our community. The nominations are reviewed, the winner selected and notified, a YOM sign is placed at the property, a photo taken is taken for inclusion in the upcoming community paper, and a $25 gift card donated by Ace Hardware is presented to the winner. ACE Hardware is a locally-owned Bloomingdale business that has been the sponsor of the event since its beginning. Campo YMCA is a recent sponsor offering the YOM winners membership benefits.
